SEMBLANCE
The varied colors and the sensitive combination of them using his hands as a brush give a very special touch of great expressive value to each of his works. Emiliano Sebastián Parra Ortiz was born in Puebla, Mexico, in February 1996 and was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. From a very young age, he showed interest in painting when visiting museums and looking at books by different artists. At 12 years old, he began painting with acrylic and vinyl paint on cardboard as part of his therapy. Shortly after, he took painting classes for a year, experimenting with different techniques, but the one with which he best expressed himself and liked the most was still vinyl painting on cardboard. He continued using this technique, but no longer as therapy, but as the activity he most enjoyed during the day.
Emiliano's painting is an endless journey through his inner self, layers upon layers of feelings, thoughts, and emotions flowing through acrylic. His work is highly varied, full of vitality, with a very personal style and vibrant colors that capture the viewer's attention. In 2017, the Puebla Municipal Institute of Art and Culture invited him to present his first solo exhibition of 22 pieces as part of the commemorative events for the "Cinco de Mayo International Festival." Since that day, Emiliano has had several national solo exhibitions in important museums and galleries; he has also been invited to participate in two international collective exhibitions with artists with over 10 years of experience, the first in New York in 2019 and the second in Paris in 2020.
Despite his many motor limitations, through his work and over a career spanning more than 10 years, Emiliano has managed to actively integrate into society, raising awareness of its ever-increasing inclusion. He has also been recognized for his talent as a "visual artist" by colleagues with extensive experience.
